TINY BIRD FLIES FOR TEN MONTHS STRAIGHT

The tiny swift flies for ten months straight -- from Sweden to the Congo to
winter and then back to its nesting grounds in Sweden. It spends 99.5
percent of tits time in the air flying at about ten thousand feet but
descending daily to lower altitudes to feed on flying insects. So Swedish
researchers have discovered after strapping tiny one gram microdata logs
on the birds and recovering 19 of them. The birds do not roost unless
nesting.
