Porcupine's Quill
April 1, 2012

News Item:  Scientists report the first successful cloning of an extinct species.  A
Tyrannosaurus Rex has been successfully hatched.  The medium used was an
infertile chicken egg into which the TR's  DNA was introduced.

Dottore Vicento Pollastro of the Italian Federal Institute of Bologna (IFIB) reports the
little fellow is doing fine but is beginning to display aggressive tendencies.  He points
to a bandaged finger.

I was trying to feed him some worms but he was hungrier than I realized.  We now
slide his food into the reinforced cage.

Aside from zoos across the world bidding for the little guy, we have several theme
parks interested.  But we do not want a Jurassic Park scenario.  He is not for sale ...
not yet.

We have applied for a grant to build a facility outside town to house him and it all
depends on how quickly our request is approved.

Escape?  No, impossible!

Oh, my God!  He was right here a minute ago.  Help!  Help!  Lock the doors.  We
can't let him get loose ... unless he is already out ...

Let's see now.  What's the dateline on this piece?!
