THE DORMOUSE IN THE WHITE HOUSE
News item: President Obama sings again at a White House function.
Hey! I am just a poor immigrant dormouse that got lucky -- found my way into
this luxury pad, all the way from Chicago, hidden in the Grand Ollama's
accoutrements -- that's what you call your junk when you are the big chief.
So here I am in the nerve center of the universe, so to speak, within
whispering distance of "da Man" hisself. And the food is nothing to
complain about either. Yeah! I miss the open air, but who's complaining,
eh!?
Well, anyway, I'm sleeping soundly one Saturday morning, and I wake up to
this awful screaming coming from the bathroom. Dare I say it, it wasn't too
bad actually ... accompanied by what seemed like a tuba -- oh! oh!
Okay! Once in a while it could be tolerable but he now really fancies himself,
ever since the press reports. So he has taken to practicing 24/7 ... well
almost, and it's driving us nuts. He even talks to the staff in song -- singing
for your supper has taken on a new meaning.
I have begun to notice discreet ear plugs poking out of some ears -- notably
the ma-in-law, and the missus is no longer her cool self. I think, I'll get me a
pair of ear plugs too.
