AN ANCESTRAL HOMECOMING
News Item: President Obama visits Kenya, his father's homeland.
Now, now, let's not go over the top.
A quick visit to the home village then ...
That's over the top. A quiet dinner at the hotel away from photographers.
I understand. As it is a family visit, the first lady and children are included, right?
Let's get this straight. It's a working trip. Security is the main agenda. We want to
roll in Kenya to help fight al-Shabaab seriously. And Ethiopia as a sort of reward for
their help.
Ethiopia is effectively a dictatorship.
We can 't choose their government. As long as they help in Somalia. One can't
forget their sacrifice, and crucial assistance, in toppling the Islamic Courts regime in
Somalia.
Too bad they were the only ones who brought peace to the wretched place in
decades ... unfortunate, they morphed into al-Shabaab. And now the devastating
attacks in Kenya ...
With Kenya pushing back, we can squeeze al-Shabaab. Now the dinner with the
folks. Keep it simple ... and not too long. It's a busy schedule, the next day.
As you say, sir ...
One other thing, no invites back to the White House.
For President Kenyatta, you mean.
No, no, that family thing ... and low-key on the religion ...
