THE WAYWARD FOX
News Item: A little Arctic fox with a radio collar was tracked from Swalbard, a
Norwegian island in the Arctic, all the way across to Canada, an epic 3500 km
journey in an amazing 76 days -- a phenomenal pace averaging 45 km per day,
although sometimes she excelled herself covering 155 km.

How did you do it?
Oh, I just kept going.
Just like that ...
Yep! My nose points me towards the food and I follow.
Anything else?
I enjoyed it and I haven't stopped.
We don't know about it because the transmitter battery wore out. You are an
amazing fox.
You sound just like your president but thanks. Seems if I was like the transmitter I
wouldn't be talking to you.
Why did you go west?
Haven't you heard the old saying, "Go west, young man." Well, I believe in it.

But doesn't the Arctic have sun forever in the summer.

Not your president's cheeseburger for sure. I have to catch my food. That is why my
path is a zigzag. You know voles and birds and whatever comes by.
