A BUG LAMENTS
News Item: The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled that the
bulk collection of meta data by the NSA went beyond the scope of the law.
It is not just me you know. It's thousands upon thousands of us little guys -- little
patriots, you might say -- doing our duty, keeping the country safe.
So it's you little fellas bugging us, poking about everyone's circle of friends, relatives
Yes, it's all in the company you keep.
It's hard to shake off a bug ...
It's impossible. We just stick with you, no matter how much you scratch.
Sucking blood for no other reason than we are there.
It's been our life. What are we going to do now? And what about the economy? Last
Friday's jobs report on which stock markets worldwide went wild is already out of date
with us unemployed.
So what have you been doing with all the masses of information you collect?
That's up to the computers. They look for keywords and flag them.
But won't serious malefactors use code words like calling a bomb a tomato, or refer to
a planned nasty piece of work by some holiday name like Easter or Christmas.
It happens, but many of them don't care.
You mean the amateurs.
Call them what you will.
And the more mountains of info you collect, the bigger the haystack and the harder it
is to find the needle
We try ...
At least the haystack will be smaller ...
